Martin T Wierzba, of Wittenberg, died Aug 16, 2008, at St Clare’s Hospital in Weston.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Aug 20 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Galloway, with the Rev Alan Wierzba officiating. Interment included military rites conducted by Elderon Memorial Post 8068 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr Wierza was born Nov 9, 1918, in Bevent, a son of the late Anton and Felixica (Stroik) Wierzba.

He was married to Margaret Kulas on Nov 18, 1947, at St Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt.

He served in the US Army during World War II.

He and his wife farmed in Galloway until they retired and moved to Wittenberg in 1991.

He was a lifetime member of Elderon Memorial Post 8068 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, LeRoy (Sue), Rosholt, and Marvin Wierzba, Galloway; two daughters, Karen (Andy) Groshek, Galloway, and Elaine (Ron) Schrader, New Berlin; four sisters, Agnes Bembenek, Wausau, Theresa (Ervin) Bembenek, Greenfield, Margaret Wanserski, Polonia, and Irene Galecki, Waukesha; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Marie Schroeder; three sisters; and five brothers.
