Motion Picture and Television Producer. Co-founder of the Lorimar Production Company, he was a creative force behind the programs "The Waltons", "Eight is Enough" and "Dallas". Following graduation from Ohio University, he landed a position as an office boy with an advertising company. He served for four years with the US Navy and later resumed working in the advertising field after moving to New York. He made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, when he merged with Mirisch Company becoming Mirisch-Rich Productions which resulted in the yielding of the TV series "The Rat Patrol". Rich's partnership with Merv Adelson and their creating of Lorimar led to his indelible mark on television history for which he shared an Emmy Award for "The Waltons" (1973) and received several nominations. They also produced several TV-movies including the adaptation of Joseph Wambaugh's "The Blue Knight" (1973) and the motion pictures "The Choirboys" (1978), "Hard to Kill" (1990), "Passenger 57" (1992) and "The Score" (2001).
