Mrs. Pauline Pizarek, 78, 226 Ann St., died this morning at 3 of the infirmities of age in the home of her son, Alex Pizarek, 1801 Washington st.
She was a former resident of Coolspring township, but had recently moved into the city. She is survived by 54 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 in St. Mary's church, with Rev. E. H. Vurpillat officpiating (sic). Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in the family lot. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Friends may call Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday at the home of her son, 1801 Washington. The Rosary Confraternity will meet in the son's home Friday afternoon at 3 to recite the rosary.
Mrs. Pizarek was born Feb. 26, 1858, in Zachesburg, Posen, Germany, the daughter of Martin and Wilhelmina Wiese Timm, Sr. In 1872 she came to this country. Sixty one years ago she married John Pizarek, who passed away 41 years later.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters--George, Anthony, Joseph and Alex Pizarek, Mrs. Henry Phillips, Mrs. George Burkart and Mrs. John Mark, all of Michigan City; one brother, August P. Timm, also of this city. Eleven children preceded her in death.
A grandson, Rev. Aloysius Phillips, will be ordained to the priesthood next May. He is at present in the seminary at St. Meinrad, Ind. Mrs. Pizarek exemplified a beautiful Christian life. Her passing is mourned by hundreds of friends and relatives.
