MRS. MARY BLYLY

Mrs. Mary Blyly of Locke, widow of Fred Blyly, died at 12 o'clock Saturday night at the home of her son, William Blyly, Riverview avenue, Foster Place, Elkhart, after an illness due to infirmities of age. She was 80 years old last Wednesday. She had been in failing health since September 3, when she came to the home of her son. Mrs. Blyly was the oldest resident of Locke, having lived there for 58 years. Her husband died 27 years ago. She was a member of the Mennonite church of Nappanee.

Mrs. Blyly, who was the daughter of William and Catherine Warner, was born March 22, 1842, near Johnstown, Pa., and was brought to Indiana when but 12 years of age, the family locating on a farm south of Middlebury. On February 22, 1863, she was married to Fred Blyly. The couple moved first to Syracuse, then to a farm south of Nappanee and finally located in Locke.

Surviving her is a son, Abraham Harshberger, living south of Middlebury, by a former husband; a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Achberger of Elkhart, two sons, William Blyly of Elkhart and Emmanuel Blyly of Nappanee; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchldren; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Wanzer of Piedmont, Okla., and two brothers, Henry Warner of Summer, Wash., and William Warner of Middlebury. A daughter died in infancy.

The body will lie in state Monday and Tuesday at the Blyly home and the body will then be placed in the receiving vault at Grace Lawn cemetery until the roads are such that the body can be taken to Locke. In compliance with her request, Rev. Abraham Yoder of the Elkhart Mennonite church, and Rev. I.P. Moore, also of Elkhart, will have charge of the funeral service. The burial will take place at South Union cemetery beside her husband and daughter.
