Billy Williamson Dunavant, 89, of Fulton, Missouri, died Sunday, November 28, 1999 at the Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton. He was born on November 18, 1910 in Fulton to the late Edmund W. and Nuell (Smith) Dunavant. He married Mary Alice (Ebersole) on February 16, 1936 and she preceded him in death on May 18, 1996. He was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

He graduated from Fulton High School in 1929, attended Westminster College and received his pharmacy registration from St. Joseph. In 1943, he purchased Nolin Pharmacy and changed the business name to Dunavant's Drug. He operated Dunavant's Drug until his retirement in 1972.

He was past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club, and served on the Fulton School Board, Serve Board and Police Board. He was a chapter advisor of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at Westminster College and had been an active member of the local Chapter of AA. He was a member and past elder of First Presbyterian Church in Fulton.

Memorial services will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Fulton with arrangements under the direction of Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton.
