Mrs. Evelyn J. Andrews, 89, died, Wednesday, on August 24, 2011 at her home in West Point. Evelyn J. Andrews was born April 30, 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Ollie Mae Patterson and Henry Gustav Johann. She was the first female to work as a teller to work at First National Bank of West Point, later she worked and retired as a shipping clerk for Blazon Flexible Flyer. Evelyn Johann Andrews was married to her husband of 55 years, Alfred Williams Andrews, Jr. on October 18, 1942 in West Point, he preceded her in death on March 31, 1998. Mrs. Andrews was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in West Point, until joining Our Savior Lutheran Church in Columbus, to attend church with her husband. She was a dedicated Christian and role model to all.

She was reared in West Point, she was known as the "Honey Lady", she sold Andrews Apairies honey and her signature baby wraps and quilts at craft shows across the state; with the Prairie Arts Festival in West Point being her favorite. Evelyn J. Andrews was also preceded in death by a son, Alfred William Andrews, Jr. her sisters Louise Johann Ellis and Judy Johann Fowler and brother Henry Cecil Johann.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Floyd Smithey officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Andrews of Memphis, TN, and Gail Husbands (Bobby) of Raymond, two sons, James Andrews and David Andrews (Carol) all of West Point; two grandchildren, David Andrews, Jr. (Jamie) and Steven Andrews (Jennifer) Eight great grandchildren, Emma Andrews, Ruth Andrews, Logan Andrews, David "Trey" Andrews, III, Lillie Andrews, Morgan Larkins, Lauren Larkins and Bethany Larkins.

Pallbearers will be her sons, daughters and grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church 1211 18th Avenue North Columbus, MS 39701 or to North MS Medical Center Hospice 422A East President Street Tupelo, MS 38801 or Charity of Choice.

Visitation will be Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until service time at Calvert Funeral Home.
