Raymond E. "Boots" Breshears, age 69, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born in Warsaw at Doc Salley's office on July 9, 1942, the son of Elvin and Mary Jackson Breshears. A short time after his birth, the family moved to the Kansas City area and moved back to Warsaw shortly before his sixteenth birthday. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1960. After high school, he moved to Jefferson City, Missouri and around 1963, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served aboard an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1967.

In 1965 he was united in marriage to Darlene Estes. They had two daughters, Kelly and Tammy. After his time in the service, he lived in Jefferson City where he managed a service station. In 1972, he returned to Warsaw and worked for his father and the State Highway Department. In 1974 he started working for Triple A Linen Company, first as a route driver, then as supervisor of the maintenance department. In 1996 he moved to the state of Florida where he worked as a journeyman plumber. In 2000 he retired and moved back to Warsaw where he spent his time fishing, mushroom hunting, watching deer, and just spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Elvin, a brother Charles, and his daughter Tammy.

He is survived by his daughter Kelly Breshears, and her fiancÚ, Don Powelson, of Raymore, Missouri, his mother, Mary Breshears, brother, Dale Breshears, sisters, Elnora Alexander and Elaine Campbell, former wife, Darlene Breshears, all of Warsaw, two grandchildren, Jeremy Walsh and Courtney Walsh, of Raymore, and one great-grandson, Jason Walsh. He is also survived by an uncle, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A visitation for "Boots" will be held at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, May 24, 2012. Grave side services and military honors will follow at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at the Belleview Cemetery near Warsaw.
