Pearl Lilly Newborn Holt of Waynesboro, TN, formerly of Collinwood, TN, was born September 20, 1915 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late Chess and Lizzie Stooksberry Newborn. She was united in marriage to Charlie Houston Holt and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Holt was a homemaker and departed this life on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Wayne Care Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 8 Months.
She is survived by three sons, Charlie J. Holt and wife, Mary Katherine, Johnnie Holt and wife, Glenda, and Bobby Ray Holt and wife, Denise all of Collinwood, TN; two daughters, Mary Lou Sherrill of Collinwood, TN, Alice Marie Holt of Cypress Inn, TN; 17 Grandchildren, Ronald Holt, Tootsie Bratton, Dwayne Sherrill, Beverly Stone, Dwight Sherrill, Michael Bratcher, Russell Holt, Stacy Holt, Marshelia Stricklin, Sonya Pigg, Cynthia Caperton, Shannon Holt, John Holt, Jordan Holt, Cody Clay, Ryan Clay, and Nichole Clay; 18 Great -grandchildren, 3 Great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by two daughters, Lydia Faye Bratcher and Mavis Newborn; a son, Billy Wade Holt; a grandson, Shayne Holt; two great-grandchildren, Colby Bratcher and Gina Bratton; sons-in-law, James Bratcher and Kenneth Sherrill; three brothers, Leonard, Elmer, and Sinclair Newborn; two sisters, Mary Martin and Ethel Stooksberry.
Services will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Cromwell Crossroads Church, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton and Junior Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
