Mary was born and raised and lived in Pendleton County all her life except for a short time. She married George Washington Hanker on June 16 1894. George died in 1952. To this union 2 daughters and a son were born Edna, Hazel and William.
Mary died at the home of her daughter in Lawrenceburg Indiana where she had lived for her last two years. She was laid to rest in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Pendleton Co Ky.
