Born on October 24, 1917, to Aaron and Ida Mae Conkling, he was a life resident of this city. He had been employed by Hertzberg and Son, Middletown, and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his widow, Gladys; one son, Ronald of Yankee Lake, N.Y.; on daughter, Mrs. Gail Neilson of Godeffroy; five sisters, Ruth Baker of Circleville; Lucille Sniffen and Sadie Odgen of Middletown; Mary Henderson and Doris Hines of Port Jervis; one brother, Harrison of Port Jervis; one granddaughter; one uncle; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Cuddebackville Rural Cemetery, Cuddebackville. The Rev. Stephen Bachelder of the First Congregational Church of Middletown will officiate.
