Isaiah Cain became Justice of Peace in the place of Aaron Butler Esq who was appointed a Justice of Quorum. 7 Sep 1819. Amite Co. Court p.143.

He was a delegate to the Constitutional convention 1832 at Jackson, representing Amite Co.


Isaiah Cain was a soldier of the War of 1812 for which his widow received a pension. Abstracted in MS Genealogical Exchange, Vol. 8-10, it reads: Cain, Isaiah, wid. Mary W.O. 19,934 W.C. 11,306 Pvt Capt Samuel Gerald's Co. MS Militia, Enl 10-1-1814 dischgd 3-28-1815. Res. 1851 Amite Co. MS. Res. of wid. 1878 Amite Co. (P.O. Zion Hill) MS. Maiden
name Mary Butler, married 13 Jan 1820 Amite Co. MS. Sold. d 3 Jan 1855 Amite Co. Wid. d prior to 19 Jan. 1889.
