He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raytown. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Raytown post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Velma Crain of the home; four daughters, Beverly A. Seever, Kansas City, Barbara J. Boden, Chicago, Bonnie R. Gatewood, Titusville, Fla., and Brenda M. Eyring, Liberty; two sisters, Delores McDavid, Raytown, and Darlene Tatter shall, Odessa, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
