Born in Kentucky. Married Docia Elinor Lucas on July 28, 1844, in Huntsville, Arkansas. Moved to California in the early 1850s. Killed by Indians at Antelope Springs while freighting between the Humbolt mines and California. The Indians took "their weapons, cattle and everything the wagons contained excepting some coffee which they scattered on the ground." The next night John C. Dow and John Pritchard found the bodies and buried them where they found them. A party pursued the Indians, killed 8 of the 9 and recovered some clothes and weapons.
