He was the founder of the Bedford County Grange Mutual Fire Insurance Company established in 1945. He worked as a fire insurance agent. He was a 25 year member of Burning Bush Grange, Centerville, and was active in the soil conservation program.
He was survived by his wife and these children:
Joseph Leonard and Gerald Leonard, both of Greensburg; Mrs. William Preston, Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Kenneth Growden, Bedford. One brother, William Leonard, Bedford RD 3, also survived him. He had 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Requiem Mass was held in St. Thomas Church with Rev. Father Edward McConnell officiating. Burial in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
