Marie Coburn Blauer of Logan, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Father on May 4, 2012, at the end of her natural life.
Born Feb. 25, 1935, in Smithfield, Utah, Marie was the ninth and youngest child of Celia Hill and Fred Leatham Coburn. She spent her childhood in Oxford, Idaho, where her father farmed, and she graduated from West Side High School in 1953. Later that year she married Rex Price Waldron in the Logan LDS Temple. Marie and Rex raised their family of four daughters and two sons in Samaria, Idaho. They were later divorced. In 1989, Marie married John Rodney Blauer in River Heights, Utah. On Valentine's Day in 1991 they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple.
Marie excelled as a homemaker, and baking, crocheting and embroidering were among her talents. She will be remembered as an accomplished seamstress, a wonderful cook and the creator of many beautiful things.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Marie was dedicated to LDS Church history and genealogy. Through her countless hours of work, she helped her family know and appreciate their pioneer heritage.
Marie's family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Carlson and the staff of Sunshine Terrace in Logan, Utah. We rejoice in the freedom she now enjoys.
Marie is survived by all six of her children, Celia (John) Warburton of Iona, Idaho, Lana (Rob) Perisho of Kokomo, Ind., Trudy Waldron of Orlando, Fla., Vicky (Charles) Campbell of Alpine, Utah, Layne Waldron of Kelso, Wash., and Jed (Pam) Waldron of Millville, Utah. She is also survived by her brothers, Melvin Coburn of Deweyville, Idaho, and Seth (Delores) Coburn of Downey, Utah; her sister, Colleen (Bryce) Sorenson of Rigby, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Marie was reunited with her husband, John; her parents; her brothers, Lew, Leon, Carl and Jack Coburn; and her sister, Lucille Gyllenskog.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, May 9, at Nelson Funeral Home in Logan, Utah. Friends may call one hour before the service, as well as from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Marie will be buried in the River Heights Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com.
