Passed away Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at his home, age 87 years.

Dale was born in Tuscola County, Michigan October 18, 1924 the son of the late Christopher and Addie (Greenleaf) Agnew. He married Norma J. Young May 22, 1948 and she survives him. Dale was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, serving in 5 campaigns with the 246th Combat Engineers, earning a silver star and 5 bronze stars. He was a member of VFW Post No. 9809 and the Normandy Association. Dale was a member of the Saginaw County Builder's Association and served as a building official for Kochville Township. He loved spending time at his cottage in Lewiston and being able to spend time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by his son, Kris (Sandra) Agnew; two grandchildren, Lindsey (Thad) Wolfram and Tyler (Jenna Priem) Agnew; two great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Zoey Wolfram; two brothers-in-law, Albert (Jean) Trautner and Robert (Mary) Young; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Agnew and Elaine Young; many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Donald (Pauline) Agnew, Gerald Agnew and a sister, Mona Trautner.

The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway. Rev. Mark P. Buckert will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military services under the auspices of American Legion Post No. 439. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. Thursday from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and at church on Saturday from10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
