Lyle was born to, Jessie E. Smith and Arnel J.(Unknown) in Hamburg, Fremont Co. Iowa.

She married Charles Edward Kier on Jan. 25th, 1928, In Yuma Co., CO. To this union six sons were born, Richard Lee, Weslie Wayne, Billie Dwane, Jimmie Gene, Jack LaVerne and Jerry Alfred Kier.

For a number of years the family lived in the Vernon neighborhood, but last April moved to a farm near Abarr.

Several years ago she was converted at the Assembly of God Church in Wray and has worshipped since at the Champion Valley Church of God.

She died at age 36, and is survived by her husband, 5 sons from ages 2 years to 18, her father Jess E. Smith of Salem, OR., one brother in Oregon and one brother living in CA.

The Kier family lived on a farm, south of the base line, in Yuma County. It had sandy soil and produced poor dry land crops, so it was hard to raise a decent crop. Lyle's prize possesion according to her son Richard (Dick), was her piano.

At the present time, Jack LaVerne Kier, born 1939 is still living at Max, Dundy Co. NE.
