Ethel Crew Booth, of 776 12th st., Marion, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
She was born the daughter of Joseph and Eliza Hampton Crew on May 3, 1876, at Vermillion, South Dakota. On June 14, 1900, at Marion, she was married to Dr. John J. Booth, who passed away May 26, 1958. With her parents Mrs. Booth, at an early age, came to Marion. She graduated from Marion high school and attended Iowa State Teachers college.
She was a member of the First Methodist church of Marion, and she was very active in W.S.C.S., having served as president and as a district officer. She was a member of Naomi circle, W.S.C.S. and a charter member of the Amiego club.
Surviving are a son, Ronald Booth, of Northfield, Illinois, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Harry (Barbara) Moses of Norwood, Massachusetts. A sister, Alice Crew preceded her in death.
Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Ralph E. Baker, pastor of the First Methodist church of Marion. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
