Phyllis Webb Gifford, 62, of Deport, passed away peacefully at her home with her family on Sunday, January 26, 2003.
Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, in the Abundant Life Church in Minter with the Rev. Tony Corso officiating.
The family will receive friends at her home, 144 Jeffus, Deport.
She was born August 23, 1940, in Hopkins County, the daughter of Ben Webb and Maud Beatrice Burkhart Webb. She married Kenneth Earl Gifford on June 7, 1957. She worked as a beautician in Paris for many years before she and Kenneth opened Gifford's Food Store in Deport. After retiring, she became active with her children and grandchildren through their Broiler Projects as school. Attending livestock shows each year with her family bacame a highlight of her life. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Minter. Those who knew her knew she loved God, her family and life. It was hard to let her go, but she left us many wonderful memories.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Webb; and her sister, Margaret Ann Webb Allen in 1987.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Gifford of Deport; her mother, Maud Webb of Deport; children, Lisa Angela (Robert) Johnson of Deport, Kenneth Earl (Linda) Gifford Jr. of Cunningham, and Tara Don (Tracy) Bratcher of the Lone Oak community, south of Deport. She was 'Ga Ga' to Brandon, Allen & Larry Johnson, Fair Shae & Trey Gifford, Hunter Bratcher, Josh & Tiffanie Osborn, Jerrika Johnson, Brandon Moore, Tegan Lucas and Isheda Coulter; sister, Barbara Gail Webb White of Bogata; brother, Barney Wayne Webb of Deport; and several nieces and nephews
