Bessie Mae Moss Janes

Mrs. Bessie Mae Moss Janes of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Bradley Moss and Clara Beatrice Keltner Moss, was born on April 7, 1935 in Adair County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Grandview Nursing Facility in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She was 77 years, and 17 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a loving mother and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Willard "Bill" Crouch Janes who were united in marriage on March 14, 1953.

Other survivors include 10 children and their spouses: Allen and Fredy Milby of Greensburg, Pauline and Robert Raney of Louisville, Cymblene and Delson Jones, JoAnn "Jody" and Arvil Martin all of Greensburg, Norma Janes Garmon of Nicholasville, Roscoe and Judy Janes, Dennis and Debra Janes all of Greensburg, Mitchell and Pam Janes of Summersville, Roy Janes of Greensburg, and Harold Janes of Campbellsville; 28 grandchildren; 58 Great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Janes was also preceded in death by a grandchild: Alison Heather Wright on March 12, 1979; three brothers: James Dillon Moss, Harlan Edward Moss, and Luther Vervion Moss.

The funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Moss Janes will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Pickett's Chapel United Methodist Church in the Portland Community of Adair County with burial to follow in the Tarter's Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Herbert Janes will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 3 until 9 P.M., Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 9 A.M., Friday at the church until time of the funeral service.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial fund , which can be made at the funeral home.
