Mabel Rogers Wilhelm was born Oct. 2, 1922, to John and Mary Rogers. She grew up in Snowflake, Arizona, and married Carl LeRoy Wilhelm March 26, 1942. They had seven children.

Daughter, Sweetheart, Mother, and Friend: these were her most cherished roles. Mabel was quiet and self-effacing, with rock-solid faith which never wavered, even through adversities.

She loved the beauties of nature, family outings, dancing, working at the public library, making fudge, going for rides, smelling lilacs and roses, and raising kids.

Mabel died on April 22, 2012. Some things Mabel enjoyed doing: going for a ride, making friends, drinking a Coke, sharing Hershey's chocolate kisses, going for another ride, dancing, riding a bike, and making squash pies with whipped cream.

Mabel R. Wilhelm, 89, St. Johns died April 22, 2012, died from Earth life at her St. Johns residence from natural causes incident to age. She had celebrated her 89th birthday in October 2011.

Mabel was born Oct. 2, 1922, in Snowflake, the third child (of nine) of John Marcus and Mary Eagar Rogers.

She grew up in Snowflake, graduating from S.U.H.S. in 1940. She married Roy Wilhelm of Vernon in 1942. The marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple in Mesa. After his WWII service in the Navy, the couple settled in St. Johns, where they devotedly raised a family of seven children.

Mabel became the librarian at the St. Johns Public Library in 1963 and retired 35 years later on Dec. 31, 1998, three weeks after the passing of her sweetheart and husband of 56 years. Throughout her long and productive life, Mabel's interests were reading, puns, quips, and other word-plays, dancing, music, movies, and close family gatherings and picnics.
