Charles Asa Davis Jr., 77, Bradenton, died Aug. 14, 2005.

He was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Bradenton and was a lifelong resident. He worked in construction and as a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Florida Home Guard from 1943 to 1946. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served on the USS Wisconsin. He was a Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; daughters Lori Toole, Kathy Wheeler, Debbie Davis and Kellie Baney, all of Bradenton, Charla Velez of Palmetto and Lisa Bush and Michele Stinson, both of Dothan, Ala.; sons Steven of Portage, Mich., and Lonnie and Richard, both of Bradenton; a sister, Katherine Jones of Hernando Beach; a brother, Ernest of Bradenton; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 43rd Street Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Palma Sola Cemetery in Bradenton. Published in Herald Tribune on August 16, 2005
