Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Lynn Harris, 82, of Lineville, will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Lineville Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow in the Lineville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Chapman Healthcare Center in Alexander City. She was a native of the Barfield community in Clay County and graduated from Lineville High School-class of 1948. She then married Coach Harold Davis and as she accompanied him during his career as a coach and educator, she was primarily a homemaker and "stay at home Mom". However, Jessie Lynn did teach kindergarten at Clarkston Baptist Church for over 10 years and also worked as a receptionist at DeKalb Junior College. Returning to Clay County in 1982, she lived out her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs Harris was also a member of Lineville Baptist Church.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Jan Meyer (Tony) and Beth Dewberry (Russell) all of Alexander City; 2 sons, Hal Harris (Phyllis) of Lineville and Johnny Harris of Woodstock, GA; sister; Alice Hogan of Grant, AL; 3 sisters-in-law, Joan Harris of Lineville, Emma Jo Harris of Pell City and Carolyn Hill of Madison, AL; grandchildren; great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold Eugene Harris; sister, Euna Vera Fullington; brother, Jim Hill.

Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.
