"Uncle " Wash Hammock died Tuesday of last week. He had been very feeble for several years and there was no hope of his recovery from the beginning of his last sickness. "Uncle" Wash as he was familiarly known, will be greatly missed from the community. He had lived here for a great number of years and reared a large family, consisting of five sons and four daughters, one son being drowned several years ago. Those now living are Judge W T Hammock of Little Rock, John W of Blythville, Luther A of Atkins, and J R of Quitman: four daughters Mrs. George Ryhan of England, Mrs Sallie McElmury of Leslie, Mrs. Gwendolin Shumate of Little Rock, and Mrs Byrtle Hall of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The aged wife who still survives is confined to her bed at the home of her son, Riley. We extend to the bereaved ones our deepest sympathy.
