Born May 11, 1911, in Austin, the daughter of Walter and Louise Lucksinger Lloyd, she was a life long member of St Martin's Lutheran Church, and a graduate from Austin High School, She worked in the stenographic bureau of the University of Texas, then as a typist in private business, and finally as secretary at the Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University.
She married Fred Otto Schmidt on Aug. 29, 1937, and lived in Austin and raised her two children. She moved to Lockhart in November 1997. In all of these years in her church, her family, and her work, the care for and interest in the people with whom she came into contact left a legacy of service."
