Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Robert Louis Cormier, age 62, who passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Summerwood Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Crowley.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Mr. Cormier was a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Carencro for most of his life. He was a self-employed painter and sheetrock finisher. Mr. Cormier was an avid hunter, fisherman, loved spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed watching his granddaughters play Beau Chene High School Softball. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro and was a member of the Bonne Mort Society.
Survivors include one son, Shawn Cormier of Carencro; one daughter, Nicole Cormier Faul and her husband, David, of Arnaudville; his former wife, Connie Reaux Hoffpauir of Carencro; three grandchildren, Naomi Rae Faul, Laisa Marie Faul and Marae Faul; two brothers, Steven Cormier of Carencro and Matt Cormier and his wife, Jullie, of Arnaudville; and three sisters, Florence Pellerin and her husband, Irvin, of Scott, Pauline Broussard and her husband, Keith, of Sunset and Mona Smith and her husband, Byron, of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Donlouis Cormier, Jr. and the former Edna Mae Arnaud, both natives of Arnaudville; one daughter, Noemi Cormier; one infant grandaughter, Khloe Faul; and one brother, Paul Allen Cormier.
Pallbearers will be Steven Cormier, Matt Cormier, David Faul, Shawn Cormier, Byron Smith and Keith Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Arnaud, Kevin LeBlanc and Irvin Pellerin.
