As a child, Fannie grew up in Belton, Texas. She was married to F.S. Hamilton from 1889 until they were legally separated in 1892. Six years later she married Joseph Milton Woodward on Nov. 20, 1898 in Circleville, Williamson County, Texas. They lived in Granger and Belton until her husband died Feb. 9, 1910. Fannie's father William Anderson Adkins died about a month later, on March 24, 1910. Fannie and her mother Judith Adeline Tate-Adkins lived together until her mother's death in Belton in 1919. She is found in the 1930 census living with her sister and brother in law, Mamie Melisa (a.k.a. Sallie) and Benjamin Frank Bennett at 1724 Jennings Street in Ft. Worth, Texas.
