Galatia News (Too late for last week)- Mr. and Mrs. George Boxberger attended the funeral of Eugene Brack, who was drowned in a stock tank. He was 1 year and 2 months and 20 days old.

April 7, 1932 - Otis Reporter - Obituary
The whole community was shocked, when last Monday, towards evening, the sad news came, that little Eugene Brack had met a tragic death by drowning in the stock tank near the house of his parents. It was only a little over an hour before, that the little tot was seen on the streets of the town, happy and well as ever, playing and laughing with his father and his mother.
After arriving at home his father made some repairs at his car and the little boy was, as always his habit, near him. His father left him playing just a moment to get some needed bolts and after coming around the house did not see him; he searched the house and not seeing him there, called mother, but she did not see him near her. A feeling of uneasiness crept into the hearts of the parents and they let loose their faithful dog, the boy's playmate, who straightways went for the tank followed by the parents, and here - well reader you know the rest of the story.
That every effort was made to revive him need not be said. But seemingly the chill in the ice cold water was too much for little Eugene and the two hours work for his revival was without avail.
Eugene Marlin Brack was born January 11, 1931, near Otis. His father is Harrison Brack, his mother, Lydia nee Gallowa. He was welcomed in this world with purest joy, being the first child of the young couple. On February 8, the same year was given to and accepted by the Lord through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. Being of a lively disposition his parents always kept watching him as soon as he could walk and that he should have met such an end is inexplicable to them. But they submit to God's will and learn to understand the words of scriptures "I was dumb, and opened not my mouth, because Thou didst it."
Eugene was at the day of his death, 1 year, 2 months and 24 days old. He is at rest and won the victory without battle; in God's paradise he can now play without danger and fear and we shall not wish him back to this world, but endeavor to follow.
The sympathy of the whole community is with the parents, grandparents and great grandmother.
