Mrs. Nellie Jane Street McGlothlin, age 95, of Rowe, Virginia, passed away Thursday (April 12, 2012) in a Richlands, Virginia hospital. Born February 2, 1917 in Skeggs, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Tiny Fletcher Street. A lifelong resident of the Rowe area, she was a member of Rowe Pentecostal Church and Rowe Senior Citizens. She enjoyed spending her time quilting, crocheting, and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Lewis McGlothlin, three sons, Clayton McGlothlin, Dors McGlothlin, and Fain McGlothlin, one daughter, Loretta Byrd, one granddaughter, Ivy Nicole Byrd, eight sisters, and one brother. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include two sons, Leon McGlothlin and wife, Sheri of Manassas, Virginia and Ronnie McGlothlin and wife, Rita of Rowe; two daughters, Shirley Altizer and husband, Eugene of Abingdon and Fayrene Coxton of Dumfries, Virginia; twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Leonard Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Rowe Pentecostal Church
