Mr. Lindner was born on April 4, 1848, in Saxony, Germany, and came to America at the age of four with his grandparents and an uncle, locating near Sheboygan. For some time he operated a farm near Centerville, and was married there, his first wife preceding him in death about 56 years ago. His second marriage took place a year later to Miss Katherine Lummie, who survives him.
Before moving to the town of Hewitt over 18 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Lindner lived at Colby and Abbotsford for a number of years. Since residing at Hewitt, Mr. Lindner operated a farm on route 5. He was an active member of Immanuel’s Lutheran church. He became ill a month ago, shortly before leaving to visit his daughter. Mrs. Lindner is convalescing from an illness at the home of another daughter, Mrs. John Schwarze, Dorchester, Wis.
Surviving besides Mrs. Lindner are four children of the first marriage, Mrs. Emil (Amelia) Kading and Charles Lindner, Colby; and Mrs. August (Minnie) Dekarske and Mrs. Charles (Hilda) Berger, Sheboygan; and five children of the second marriage, William L. Lindner, who lives on the home farm, route 5; Mrs. Herman (Anna) Strathmann, Colby; Miss Louise Lindner and Mrs. John (Clara) Schwarze, Dorchester; and Mrs. Walter (Frances) Ahrens, Marathon.
A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. A daughter, Mrs. Charles (Emma) Westenhagen, Sheboygan, preceded him in death.
