Melvice D. Ward went peacefully to join his heavenly father Thursday evening, July 16. He was born December 24, 1916 in Lillie, Louisiana and moved to Oklahoma shortly after.Melvice is preceded in death by his wife Altha "Mae" Ward, parents -- Felix Monroe Ward and Sara Leona (Risinger) Ward, brothers -- Minor Ward, Travice Ward, and Felix Ward Jr., sisters -- Ollie McCalip, Orien Winkle, Eunice Nickens, Mertice Baker, and Lessie Rolley.Survivors include two sisters -- Dorothy Spann and Jeanell Blancett, son -- Donald L. Ward (wife Janette), three grandchildren -- Cheryl Carney, Darvin Ward, and Clifton Ward, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.Viewing for family and friends will be at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 21 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
