Mrs. Guidry passed away on Good Friday, April 6, 2012 in a Church Point care facility.
A lifelong resident of the Church Point/Lewisburg area, Mrs. Guidry was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a choir member.
Mrs. Guidry was known to her friends as a loving and compassionate person who would do anything to help anyone. She had the "joie de vie" (joy of living) that defines a true Cajun, and which now lives on in the hearts of everyone she touched. She was also an animal lover, especially to her dogs, Lulu and Winkie.
She was a former Avon and Mary Kay representative, and she was at one time an accomplished gardener. Her greatest joy in life, though, was spending time with and caring for her family. Mrs. Guidry's grandchildren, who lovingly called her MawMaw, were the center of her life. She especially enjoyed sharing her time with them as they performed music, did crafts, and prayed together.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Elie Leo Guidry of Church Point; daughters, Bridget Gianfala and husband, Bill of Church Point and Melanie Guidry and companion, Eric Jerlin of Church Point; sons, Randall Guidry and wife, Peggy of Church Point, Gerald Guidry and companion, Carla Guillory of Church Point, Robert Guidry and wife, Melissa of Iota, and Everett Guidry and companion, Linda Fontenot of Lacassine; sister, Jackie LeJeune and husband, Arville of Morgan City; brothers, Elvin Faul and wife, Pamela of Jena and Glenn Faul of Church Point; grandchildren, Garrett Guidry, Dustin Guidry, Hannah Guidry, Caleb Guidry, Sarah O'Pry, Lainey Guidry, Claire Higginbotham, Chachi Gianfala, Devin Fontenot, Tanner Fontenot, Lyle Guidry, Gavin Guidry, Hollie Barousse, Emily Duhon, and Annie Clae Barousse; and great-grandchildren, Cade Guidry, Landon Guidry, Averi Guidry, Gianna Higginbotham, Abby Gianfala, Jack Gianfala, and Liam Gianfala.
Proceeding Mrs. Guidry in death were her parents, Augustine and Corrine Faul; daughters, Donna Marie Guidry and Susan Barousse; son, Anthony Dwayne Guidry; and brother, Larry Faul.
