"Stephen Racho"
Stephen Racho, 81, of 146 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton, died Monday morning at Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Hazle Brook, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Kolessar) Racho. He was a member of St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 589, Hazleton. Mr. Racho was a World War II Army veteran and served with the 774th Tank Destroyers. Before retiring he was employed in the local coal industry.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers and sisters, Andrew, John, Joseph, Michael, Mary Chunko, Margaret Maxwell, Anna Knoblaugh and Elizabeth Skernolis.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., followed by Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. John's B.C. Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Parastas will be held at 7:30 p.m.

The funeral of Stephen Racho, North Wyoming street, Hazleton, who died Monday at Hazleton-St. Joseph Medical Center, was held Wednesday from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc. Msgr. John Opalenick gave the blessing at the funeral home, celebrated Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial in St. John's B.C. Church, and gave the final blessing in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. The pallbearers were Stephen Jr., Anthony, and Gerald Racho, sons; Stephen Racho, grandson; Donald Johnson, John Yuhas, and Peter Evancho (honorary).
