Caroline Thompson Mars, daughter of John A. Mars and the former Miss Martha Eleanor Willis, was born in 1840. Known as Carrie by her family, she was the sixth child of thirteen children.

Carrie T. Mars departed this life in 1885 and was laid to rest in the Mars Family cemetery.
