Herald Coaster, June 21, 1964:

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma L. Banker, 96, of Needville, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Needville, Rev. Lewis Risinger officiated.

Mrs. Banker passed away in her home after a long illness. She came to Fort Bend County in 1891 and had lived here ever since. She was a native of Burton.

Her husband, Henry Banker, preceded her in death in 1959.

She is survived by her two sons, Willie Banker of Wharton and Charlie Banker of Needville; five daughters, Mary Phillippi of Wallis, Ella Cloud of Boling, Lottie Otto of Needville, Alma Vordick of Ganado and Alice Kulak of Boling; a sister, Fena Lehman of Needville; 26 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Russell Phillippi, Bill Banker, M. B. Cloud, C. A. Banker, John Kulak, Monroe Otto, Wayne Bandy, and Charles Ellinton.

Burial was in the Needville Public Cemetery. Funeral services were under the direction of Garmany and Company Funeral Directors.
