James (Bill) William Austin, Jr., 85, formerly of Greer, SC, widower of Grace (Sudduth) Austin, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Manning House.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late James William Austin, Sr. and Lena (Creamer) Austin, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, a retired employee of J.P. Stevens and a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church.

Mr. Austin was predeceased by his son, Jimmy Austin.

A special thanks was extended to the staff of Manning House and Interim Hospice.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2012 at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Butch Austin and Rev. Joe Price. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the services.

Memorials could be made to Manning House, 10 Companion Court, Greer, SC 29651 or Interim Hospice, 155 Deacon Tiller Court, Duncan, SC 29334.
