Mrs. Herrell was born March 8, 1870 in Lancaster township and was a daughter of Marcellus and Mollie Gilliland. She was married to Albert Herrell and they became the parents
of one daughter. Mr. Herrell died in 1907, and the following year, their daughter, Helen, died.
Mrs. Herrell and her sister, Florence Gilliland, had lived together in Hayesville for many years. She is survived by two sisters, Florence Gilliland, also a patient at the Pines Rest Home in Washington and Mrs. Myrtle Long of North English.
The funeral service was held at Reynolds Funeral Chapel here on Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. John McLaughlin, pastor of the local Christian church. Burial was in Pennington cemetery, south of Sigourney.
