When John Bryant Deason was born on April 1, 1875, in Alabama, his father, William, was 29 and his mother, Falby, was 31. He married Mattie Ellafair Head* in 1897 in Bullock, Alabama. They had 14 children in 25 years. He died on April 24, 1952, in Center, Texas, at the age of 77, and was buried there.

Unable to locate burial of two children. J.H. born in 1900 (not on 1910 census) and Hattie born in 1905 (not on 1920 census)
