DIED—On Sunday 17th February, 1878
of consumption, Mrs, Melind Sanford,
wife of G. R. Sanford, aged 38 years.
Deceased was born in Burns, Allegany
county, New York, and came to
Princeton 18 pears ago. She was sister
to Mrs. Cail J. Pinkham and Mr. B. F.
Whitney. Her illness was long and
painful—of two year's duration—but
she was resigned to her fate and bore
her sufferings patiently; kind and attentive
friends and the best of medical
skill could do nothing to retard the
ravages of that fell disease—cousumption.
Her husband and daughter and
a large circle of relatives and friends
are left to mourn her loss;--for Mrs.
Sanford was held in high esteem by
all who knew her, The funeral,
which took place on Tuesday from the
family residene, was the largest one
that ever occured in Mille Lacs county,
all of the friends and neighbors
of the family turning out to pay their
last tribute of respect to the memory
of her who in life the life the loved so
well. Rev, Mr. Kingsland preached
the funeral sermon; the remains were
interred in the West Branch Cemetery,
