Funeral services were held Wednesday forenoon for William Henry Eckhart, 70, a native of Locke township, who died suddenly of heart ailment Monday in his home at the intersection of the Prairie street and Mishawaka road.
The Rev H E Miller of Beulah M B C church and Rev A B Yoder of Wakarusa officiated at the service held in the Charles Walley Chapel in Elkhart. Burial was made in the Prairie Street cemetery.
The deceased, who was born Nov 6, 1874 was the son of Adam and Mary Ann (Rickert) Eckhart. He was married Sept. 15, 1917, to Florence Gieger, who survives him, with a daughter, Miss Lois Eckhart, at home; a sister, Mrs Saloma Mann of Elkhart, and 2 brothers, Aaron, and Ira, also of Elkhart.
