OBITUARY
A Mass for August E. Grafje, 84, of Whiting will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 61 Georgia Rd., Freehold Township. Arrangements are by the C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia.
Mr. Grafje, who died Wednesday in the Whiting Health Care Center, Whiting, was a warehouse supervisor with Acme Markets in Kearny, where he worked for 32 years before retiring in 1980.
Mr. Grafje served in the Army during World War II. He received the Bronze Star. Mr. Grafje was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2636 in Iselin.
Born in Jersey City, he lived in Metuchen before moving to Whiting in 1993.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Josephine Dunn and Mrs. Marielena Scott; a brother, William; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
