James McCarthy of 1354 Teall Avenue died on Nov. 20th at his home. A life resident of Syracuse, he was employed as a car inspector for the New York Central Railroad for 25 years until his retirement a year ago, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Car Men's Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bridget Keefe McCarthy; by a son, James J. McCarthy; by a daughter, Helen McCarthy; by a brother, Patrick McCarthy; and by 4 grandchildren. Funeral services were at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a solemn high mass of requiem was sung.
