BARBER SHOOTS SELF AT HOME

Bullet Claims the Life of Richard Byers, 43

Richard Byers, 43-year-old Painesville barber, shot and killed himself this morning in the bedroom of his home on the south side of Route 20 and Hale Rd. in Painesville township. Mrs. Byers, who with two daughters survives, had just returned home when the shot rang through the house, Deputy Sheriff Clifford B. Kelsey reported. Mr. Byers had just returned home from Warren's store on North Ridge Rd. Coroner James G. Powell, who investigated the death, returned a verdict of suicide. The fatal shot was fired from .25-caliber rifle at 11:30 a.m., according to the sheriff's report.

PLAN BYERS RITES

Funeral services for Richard Byers, 43-year-old barber, who shot and killed himself Tuesday morning, will be held at Spear's Funeral home on S. State St. Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. L.L. Wood, pastor of the First Church Congregational, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Byers is survived by his wife, Esther and two daughters, Delores, 18 and Betty, 16.
