Born Feb. 14, 1917, in Columbia, Ky., he was the son of the late William and Emma (Robertson) Jones. From 1945 until 1966, he operated the Jones Sohio service station in Randolph. For several years, he was constable in Randolph Township and was also a Randolph Township trustee. He was employed at Goodyear Aerospace and retired from the Carter-Jones Lumber Co. in Akron. He had been a 32nd Degree Mason with the Canton Blue Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Erma A. (Brunner) Jones; sons, James P. (Charlotte) Jones of Crossville, Tenn., Ronnie W. (Sharon) Jones of Brady Lake, David A. Jones of Mogadore, Rev. Thomas L. (Sally) Jones of Bellaire, Ohio; daughters, Lynn A. Jones of Ran dolph, Linda A. (Herbert J.) Lock of Monroe, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hillside Cemetery Chapel in Randolph. The service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hillside Cemetery Chapel in Randolph, with Rev. Bob Amey and Thomas L. Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Randolph Volunteer Fire Department or the Randolph United Methodist Church.
