Services for Frank Wilbur Mottley III, 63, of Eufaula will be held Friday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Stevenson officiating and burial following in Old Fairview Cemetery and Chapman Funeral Home directing. He died Wednesday, May 20, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 12, 1946, in New York City to the late Frank Wilbur and Elizabeth McLean Mottley Jr. He grew up in central Florida, attended undergraduate and graduate school at University of Alabama and graduated from Jacksonville State University. He taught vocational education in Eufaula City Schools for many years and at Sparks Technical College, now Wallace College and was employed as a contract instructor with General Motors and taught GM classes all over the Southeast, in California, Detroit, Arizona, Texas, Kentucky, Canada and the Middle East. After retirement from GM, he was an automotive instructor for several other corporations. He authored numerous technical instruction manuals for his field - computer electronics. He was known in the Eufaula area for his collection and restoration of many vintage Corvettes. But he was also an avid gardener and animal lover. He served his country in the U.S. Naval Air Reserve. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Kathleen Couric Mottley of Eufaula; daughter and son-in-law Kitty and Joey Albert and children Charlie and Mollie Albert all of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law Frank W. and Brandi Bradley Mottley IV and children Garrett and Ella Mottley, all of Eufaula and Alexander Waltonen of Davis, Calif. and special caregiver Ronnie Rivers of Eufaula. Active pallbearers include Sonny Cook, Murray Dozier, John Green, Billy Spurlock, Phillip Ezell and Bob Bradley. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Barbour County Humane Society or Wiregrass Hospice of Eufaula.
