Barry S. Bishop of Bridgeport, Pennsylvania, died Monday, March 5, 2012 at home. He was 67. Barry received his B.S. degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Pennsylvania State University. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Air Force as manager of a number of Officers' Clubs, including Terceira Island Officers' Club in the Azores. Barry continued his work in the hospitality industry after returning to civilian life, working for John Wanamaker, The News Stand Inc., in Philadelphia, and Vie De France Restaurant, which he opened and closed. He also tended bar at Mr. Ron's Publick House in East Norriton. He was an avid golfer. Barry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth (nee Nuss) Bishop; his daughter Jennifer (Michael) Barniskis of West Chester; his son Jeff Bishop of Hatboro; two grandchildren; Ian and Ava Barniskis; his mother, Lillian (David) Bishop Seraika of Lansdale; three sisters, Diane Charles of Lebanon, Dawn Bishop of Harleysville, and Molly (John) Gampa of Lansdale. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Lisa; father, W. Stanton Bishop; brother-in-law, Craig Charles; and step-father, Martin Seraika. A viewing was held on Thursday evening, March 8, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home in Lansdale. A second viewing was held on Friday morning at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Barry's memory to Montgomery Home Care & Hospice, 25 W. Fornance St., Norristown, PA 19401.
