Sam liked to drink whiskey and smoke cigars. He worked for Richfield Oil Company and later he and his wife Lillie moved to Grover City, CA and opened a cafe called "Sam's Chowder Bowl". He did all the customer service and Grandma Cook did all the cooking. He was quite a character!
