GERALD L. PARKS
ZANESVILLE – Gerald L. Parks, 76, of Zanesville, died Monday afternoon, Feb. 23, 1998 at his residence.
Born Oct 22, 1921, in Sharon, Noble County, he was a retired mould maker for many years at Brockway Glass, a member of Faith United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a volunteer for Good Samaritan Genesis Hospice, a behind the scenes volunteer for Zany Follies, a volunteer at The Salvation Army and Christ Table and was an avid gardener and helpful neighbor.
Surviving are one son, Gregory Parks of Cambridge; one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Vernon Wolfe of Zanesville; two sisters, Doris Robinson of Sarahsville and Mrs. Fred "Lorainne" Combs of Route 1 Beverly; and two grandchildren, Scott and Amy Wolfe of Zanesville.
He is preceded in death by his parents E. Dewey and Belva Gant Parks; and his wife Vera Jourrine Parks; who he married Dec. 29, 1945 in France. She died March 17, 1996.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998 at the Bolin Funeral Home.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb 26, 1998, at the funeral home with Pastor Don C. Makarius officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
