Oliver Norton Harmon enlisted as a private in Company E of the U.S. Mormon battalion. He completed the march to California and re-enlisted in Company A in 1847. His listed age at re-enlistment was 19, but he was 20. He lived in Utah and served a 1857 mission to Oregon. He was a 1st and 2nd cousin to USMB Ebenezer Harmon and double 1st cousin and double 2nd cousin to USMB Lorenzo F. Harmon.
