James Vernon Brewer, 89, of Emporia, Va passed away on February 23, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edna S. Brewer, son Stephen E. Brewer and two brothers Lunsford Brewer and Donald Brewer.
He is survived by his son V. Ray Brewer; daughter Naomi P. Brewer; grandsons Nathan R. Brewer and Jonathan J. Brewer; sister Helen Scott; brother Fred Brewer and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday, 7-8 pm, at Echols Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2 pm, at Main Street Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Greensville Memorial Cemetery.
